An idea and the gumption to follow through.

That's all that is required for success on so many levels!

Astor seems set for success in life with his persistence this week in his desire to build a gingerbread house. We've been saving candy since halloween. I may have hoped that they had all forgotten about it, but Astor has the biggest sweet tooth of them all. He asked and asked and asked again until I had no choice but to remember to stop and buy graham crackers and make royal icing.  Nahuel actually made the icing. He followed instructions and measurements exactly. Leonardo enjoyed the game of guessing which letter each of his candies started with and counting how many candies of each kind.

Astor channeled some sort of Monsters Incorporated theme in his decisive placement of gumdrops and lollypops.

Ada enjoyed making a gingerbread house channeling the energy from the castle on Brave.
Leonardo focused on colorful patterns and architectural details.

Other things we've done this week: Continue our discussion on Genetics by learning about cloning principals.  Everybody did lot's of Math. Nahuel did lots of origami and fini=alized his plans for the train table. Ada finished another Harry Potter book. Lot's of reading together: things such as Dory Fantasmagory, Missile Mouse, Izzy Gismo etc. And we were even able to get everyone out in the cold for a picture to send to our abuelos in Argentina.
